Sonic Labyrinth is a fair game which has been given a bad repuation due only to it's differences from other sonic games.

Sonic Labyrinth is a Game Gear puzzle game featuring Sonic the Hedgehog. This game is a puzzle game of sorts, in which players will have to aim and charge Sonic's spindash properly in order to find three keys which will unlock the exits to each level. Sonic cannot run or jump in this game, and each level has a time limit, meaning it will be necessary to use the spindash to complete each level within the time limit. Getting hit in this game causes Sonic to drop any keys he has and depletes the time limit slightly. The simple gameplay in Sonic Labyrinth is quite enjoyable and has a fair degree of depth. Players will have to make appropriate use of the spindash in order to effectively complete the levels, and some level design will require thought from the player as well. I found the gameplay in this game to be accessible and interesting, as the basic premise of the game is quite simple while some of the mechanics of the game can be explored greatly.

Sonic Labyrinth is regarded by many as a terrible game, but this is mostly due to the fact that the blue blur is slow here. This is far from being a relevant flaw of this game, however. Sonic Labyrinth is a solid game overall, it's accessible as well as providing a fair degree of depth in it's gameplay, and is an overall enjoyable experience regardless of the ability changes given to it's protagonist.
