"Sonic is back with his friends this time around"
There are 4 team in this games that each have a different story, team sonic has to take down Dr. Egg man in three days. Team dark, shadow has to fine out about his past, Team rose, which amy and her friends have to save there others friends and fine sonic and team chaotix in which Vector and his friends take on a mystery. Overall, the story is good for a sonic but there is not much plot until the end of the game.
Graphics 8/10 The graphics are great on the xbox and game cube while on the ps2, it really hard just to look at with fame rate being really bad. If you are going to get this game because of the graphics, then get it on the game cube or x box.
Sound 7/10
Ok, the sound in this game is what you would hear in any other sonic game. Each team has their own theme song that you can listen to in the option menu. The sound is good for a sonic game but it not all that great.
Game play 6/10
What set this a part from any other sonic game is the game play. Each team has a speed, fly and power person to do the job. You can switch between them at any time during the game. The bad part about this is sonic is based on speed, the adventure games did this but heroes, you will to slow down, use the power or fly person then go back into speed which just makes feel much more slower. Each team get 14 level which are then split up into 2 act and a boss battle. The bad thing about this is that all of them have to share the same level and then afterward, it just become a matter of difficulty. Team rose easy, Team sonic is normal, Team dark is hard and Team chaotix depends on what level it is. Each stage give you a mission to get a emerald and they are mostly the same expect for chaotix which are different mission. They did bring back special stages but it not that great. There is a Vs mode but then it lag on the ps2 badly to the point where it is unplayable. Overall, the game play is new but then get old after playing though one team.
Which version to get
Game cube is the best version, ps2 and x box were ports of the game cube game. The fame rate is not bad at all on the game cube while bad on the ps2.
Score: 7 if gamecube and xbox, 6 if playstation 2.
