Sonic is back in this debut gameplay trailer showing off what you can expect in Sonic Generations.
See, this is what Sonic is meant to be. We don't need FF ripoff stories or a melodramatic main character toting a gun. We just want fast, fun, and smoothly-controlled platforming.
@miac sadly thats true, after the gamecube he turned into junk... i thinks hes long overdue to say farwell
i played sonic a lot back in the day, i remember my game gear almost burning up from so much hrs playing :P but itīs time to let it go, let the hedgehog rest in peace already
i think it would have been better if classic sonic hated the modern sonic, instead of liking each other. For those of us who grew up during the sega-nintendo wars, Sonic was a rebel. In this it looks like Sega is trying to copy Mario's personality.
I really hope the classic sonic in this new game handles EXACTLY like he did in the megadrave/genesis games and not like the way he does in sonic 4, which is nothing like as good.
I got a good feeling about this game. It looks like the team at Sega is starting to narrow down what works in Sonic games and what doesn't; as well as what fans look for in Sonic games. Sonic 4 was a decent attempt, but I thought sonic was too slow and some of the environment puzzles really took away from the pacing. Sonic Colors was a game that mixed together 2D with 3D elements and it turned out surprisingly well! It's well paced, fast and super fun to play through. Only down side is it's only on the Wii. Sonic Generations I think will be a good game that will bring Sonic back to his original appeal.
I'm really liking what I see. But that stage always looks the best though. Want to see the Casino stage or something like that.
its funny cuz these are almost the same reactions and comments as the sonic unleashed trailer, hopefully this wont bomb
i think the game story will hae to combine buth classic sonic and modern sonic to beat the campigan either way its gonna be great
finaly a sonic game with his original world i hope it will be just more the only 2 d but like all sonic game it probably gonna be good
I would rather play as classic conic if I'm being honest, I hope they got it right this time! Sonic 4 episode 1 was a step in the right direction
This is brilliant. Honestly, I'd say I only get excited about games I genuinely believe in, and returning Sonic to both classic look and classic play looks great!! Not only that, but they've expanded your view so you can move much faster and not have to be so hesitant with Sonic's speed. It was something I always thought about with my sega megadrive version, and it was only once you got good at the levels and knew what was coming could you move at the speed you really wanted to. Despite the fact I was like 7, haha. As for modern Sonic, I think it's a great idea. It should always have been an amalgamation of new and old with the developing sonic games, and they missed that point when they tried to 'evolve' the games. Now though, we can see both styles next to eachother, and I really believe it's a bright move for Sega. I'd be the first to say they lost their appeal with Sonic with a few of the more recent games (though I'll admit I did still enjoy playing Sonic Adventure 1 (and 2 a little less)), but I never lost hope in the whole idea. I just don't know why more people aren't aware of the epicness that was Sonic & Knuckles combined with Sonic 3!?! The storyline was cool, the characters were awesome, and the playability was spot on. To end this elaborate comment, I hope they choose to utilize the old Sonic soundtracks from 1, 2, and 3. They could spruce them up a bit, but that would really complete the nostalgia.
Amazing! Who else's coming: Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik or... someone else (with their classic and modern versions)? "I hope that Sega don't screw this game, for the sake of Naoto Oshima (game artist), Hirozaku Yasuhara (game designer) and Yuji Naka (game programmer)".
I'm sorry but how the hell do you guys not like the modern sonic part of this video?? It's so awesome! I have played both classic and modern and I can't get my head around how you guys like the classic in the video over the modern.
Classic Sonic is pure win, the other ...meh..certain games are simply better in the way the were meant to be.
Any reason these video's don't want to play outside of the story articles? All it shows is that I need Flash 10, which I clearly have.
Awesome! Really glad that the game allows you to play both the Classic, and the modern sonic perspectives.
