Sonic Colors is a really fun and colorful game for the Wii.

(+) great visuals, lots of different powers that are fun to use, good humor, multiple paths in each level make the experience vary.
(-) pointless two player mode, short game

Sonic Colors story starts off with Sonic and Tails going on a vacation at Eggman's amusement park which he is using to get wisps for his evil plot and it is Sonic's job like always to stop his plan. The cut-senes in story mode are fun to watch because this game has a lot more jokes than other Sonic games so it is obvious that they improved the story mode in this game.

You select your states through a map of the planets and more of them are unlocked once you beat them. The stages are sometimes on rails, free movement and will at times be 2d. There are many different paths you can take at each level some of which you may need to use a power of one of the wisps to gain access to the shortcut which could help you get a better grade once you complete the stage other than time and ring bonuses.

The visuals in this game are great they might be about with par with Super Mario Galaxy the levels are colorful and the wisp powers also look great when you use them. The music is also good each level has music that fits the level which makes playing the game more entertaining.

The two player mode is were you get extras at when you collect the red coins at each level but, collecting them isn't even worth it since the two player mode is just a stripped down version of the one player mode and isn't nearly as much fun as the real game. The only good reason to collect them is for bragging rights because you would probably make your friend mad if you played two player with him or her. Sonic Colors biggest problem is the length of the game it can be beat in like six hours so if you are not a sonic fan then you might want to rent it first because repeating levels would be the only way to continue playing.
