I never played this on the Sega CD or any game on the Sega CD, I've only played this game on Sonic Gems Collection, but they are pretty much the same. This game is HARD and can get very frustrating at times. The Gems version didn't change the load times when you time travel. Gameplay- Almost like Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis- type gameplay, notice how I said "almost". The spin dash is ruined in this game, the best I can explain it is like trying to do the spin dash in Sonic 3D Blast without those stupid spin things (people who have played that game will know what I mean). The time travel thing gets annoying after a while. 7/10 Graphics- With the exception of the title screen, all of the graphics are Sonic 2-type graphics. But, it beats the "full motion video" that are in most Sega CD games. And, the opening and end cutscenes look great. 8/10 Sound/Music- My main complaint about the sound is the sound when you jump. I mean, nearly all the rest if the game is based off of Sonic 2, why can't the jump be the same. The opening and end cutscenes' music is unbelievably good. I would give this a 9/10 but because of the jump sound I have to give it an 8/10. 8/10 At the time I don't think I would be willing to purchase the Sega CD just for this game. But, this is a good game.
