Doesn't really live up to its name that much, does it?

Blast was not a very good sonic title. It's not horrendous but at the same time not very good.

It's the first and only 8-bit sonic platformer where you can play as knuckles. However, just because you can take advantage opf the gliding and climbing abilities doesn't make this a good game. The scenery looks quite nice, but the characters and enimies look like the sonic 3D blast sprites on LSD. The sounds are also bad; they're all so low-pitched, and the killing and smashing and battering sounds are all the same. there isn't even a sound for spinning (There probably is, but the human ear can't hear such a low-pitched noise). The music is OK though.

Sonic and Knuckles control like blocks of wood. they can't go very fast and it takes five milenniums to stop. you can't pick up rings properly because it sometimes doesn't detect you and you go through rings. Other times you get stuck on loop-de-loops.

Blue marine is where I officially got stuck. until then it's sickeningly easy, but you keep getting sucked through the tubes on act 1, so once I get to blue marine I stop.

There you have it. good idea, poorly executed.
