I'm not a Sonic fan... But this time Sega surprised me.

Sonic reached a new low in the 2000s, he released bad game after bad game after bad game, but to be honest, I actually think one great game came out at this time... And that game is none other than the critically panned Sonic and The Black Knight. This game is the second in the Sonic storybook series and the better out of the two, the game starts with some sort of princess who gets cornered by a bunch of minions sent by the villain of the game, it looks like she will live no more until Sonic falls from the sky (this is never explained by the way) and stops the guards and saves the princess, if I got any if that wrong then don't destroy me because I haven't played this game in years. Without spoiling anything else, let's jump into the gameplay, it's like Sonic and the Secret Rings but the controls are much better and Sonic has a sword this time around, it feels much more natural than the Secret Rings game and it's to satisfying killing enemies with your sword. The graphics look fantastic, they nailed the old medieval style great and the character models are made to suit the time as well and it looks great. Multiplayer is here but it's not worth it as it's just an incredibly clunky battle mode. Not much replay value here worth playing a few times but don't expect any special rewards. Sonic and the Black Knight is a massive improvement over Sonic and the Secret Rings, it has some flaws but that should not stop you from reliving the old years with your favourite blue hedgehog.
