SEGA has a special place in my heart. For over 7 years they've treated me with fun and solid games. My favorite SEGA franchise is probably Sonic. Sure, he's been down in the dumps acouple of times, but let's not forget his day view on the Genesis. But let's also not forget Sonics successor, Alex Kidd. Or how about Opa-Opa, the Bonanza Bros, well, Sumo Digital sure didn't when making this game.
Since I've been talking about the characters so much, let's talk about it some more. The characters consist of several SEGA icons. From Sonic to Virtua Fighter to Shenmue to House of the Dead to Phantasy Star, it's pretty big. On Xbox 360, Banjo and Kazooie are playable as well as your Xbox Avatar. Xbox 360 also has DLC, so you can play as Metal Sonic and Ryo Hazuki in his signature forklift vehicle. On the Wii, you can play as your Mii. No PS3 exclusive characters, sadly.
The gameplay is very similar to another racing game that everyone knows about, Mario Kart. But All-Stars Racings gameplay is slightly more refined and slightly more fun. The game also features All-Star Moves which are unique to each character. For example, Sonic will turn into Super Sonic or the Bonanza Bros. will get in there blimp and throw bombs. or even Banjo and Kazooie will take there magic wrench from Nuts and Bolts and make it rain Jiggys.
The graphics are down right gorgeous. It may look better on HD consoles, but even on Wii, the still keeps cutting edge.
Overall, this game is very fun and I consider it to be more fun than Mario Kart. New gamers, hardcore gamers, or even old-school gamers will enjoy this fabulous treat. i give this game a 8.5/10.

With all the bad sonic games out there and overload of kart racing game, this one stands out as a solid title.
