Sonic and Knuckles is arguably one of the best Sonic games ever. Released only six months after its predecessor Sonic the Hedgehog 3, this game shows no signs of slowing down whatsoever. The lock on feature was a very unique and fun feature and was the only game for Sega the lock on feature. With this feature you can go back and beat Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as Knuckles and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as Knuckles by locking on these two games. The game is just as fast paced as the other Sonic series games are. The music for this game is superb. There was a very solid soundtrack all the way throughout the game. The plot is just as simple as the original Sonic plots are, but for the time I would say the plot was excellent. Dr.Robotnik is once again at it and causing much chaos and evil to occur on the floating Angel Island. In Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Dr.Robotnik’s ship: The Death Egg was critically damaged as a result of being defeated by Sonic. Due to this fact Dr.Robotnik is trying to repair his ship with Angel island’s powerful Master Emerald. Knuckles was fooled into letting his guard down by Dr.Robotnik and as a result Dr.Robotnik was able to steal the Master Emerald from him. Knuckles’ sole purpose is to protect the Chaos emeralds and the Master Emerald, and he and Sonic will have to fight together to save Angel island from a devastatingly horrifying doom and stop Dr.Robotnik form getting his ship fully functional again. Another great feature in this game is you can save your progress or save a fully completed game. This is the first Sonic game ever to have this feature, and you will be thankful for it when you get up to the last boss and run out of continues. This is also a great attribute of this game because after you have beaten the game you can now go back to any level you want without having to go through all the levels before that level in order to reach it again. The bosses in this game are a little more challenging on average compared to the earlier Sonic games. The special stages are better in Sonic and Knuckles than Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as well. I feel that overall that this Sonic game is the easiest Sonic game out of the original Sonic series. Probably the most negative feature of this game is that Miles Tails was removed from the scene. All in all this game was truly a blast. I recommend this game to anybody who loves Sonic games and to anybody who loves video games in general. You will not be disappointed.
