Save Data and Freezing Glitch

No, but I think its possible to restore corrupted data if it did happen.

Apparently at least one person who had their data affected had the save deleted though, not just corrupted. I've been playing for 18 hours without a problem and I haven't heard too many people mention problems with their data, so I'm not TOO worried.
But I haven't touched all the modes yet like multiplayer (online or offline) , and for all I know that's where the problem could be.

Dont multi-task while playing the game. Such as opening up and replying to messages when the game is playing in the background or it switch screens and starts to save. This will most likely cause a freeze and stuff up your game. Always backup saves on Cloud if you have PS+ if not, just take your time the loads arent that bad.

World Tour is great, so I wouldn't avoid it for a small risk of a freeze. What I've done is subscribe to Playstation Plus and backup the game's data file to that every so often, so if I do get my file corrupted I'll be able to recover it. At first I was annoyed at having to spend £29.99 on Plus but it is actually great and has lots of bonuses like free games and discounts so I'm happy with the decision now.
I should add that I was not multitasking when my freezes occurred. No downloads or anything - completely new PS3 with nothing else installed. What I was doing though was playing splitscreen and endlessly replaying hard challenges such as boost and traffic. It may have ran out of memory or something.

I'm not avoiding World Tour, I just meant multiplayer World Tour. I already did a huge chunk of single player World Tour, though I think I've done about as much as I can. I can't get much further in Stars.
I did get a freeze playing split-screen Grand Prix. It froze while loading a race. Luckily I didn't get my data corrupted.

There is no "multi-player world tour". When you play the game dont multi-task too much like having the PS home menu open or writing/replying to messages while the game plays in the background this is where most freezes can occur.

Yes it can happen. I got this glitch in split screen world tour & in pursuit stage.
