Game frequently crashes on loading screens

I've never seen a game where loading time is either lightning fast or crashes the game. Usually if crashes are going to happen the performance will be crappy, but the game is lightning fast and silky smooth until I hit a loading spot, at which point there's a random chance of a crash.
Have an nVidia GTX 550ti 1Gig if it matters.

I have experienced some glitches too. Some crashes resulting in a blank screen and a popup saying something along the lines of the game is not responding. I don't recall if it's only happened during or around load screens though.
Fortunately it's only happened about 4 times in about 8 hours of play.

Are you patched up on the lastest graphics drivers?
Regrettably, I've not updated my graphics drivers in months. I'll see if that helps.

Mine seems to claim that a file called "DX9-Final" or something has stopped working, which I think is the version of Direct-X the game uses...
Fortunately it's only happened about 4 times in about 8 hours of play.
It's happened to me like 6 times in three hours of play...

same her, not during races but after the game saves and loads to the next menu, I get some dialogue with some error that ha some captial letters in it. I didn't write it down but yeah I get that too. I'm running a 7870

Now that I think about it, when I rented the 360 version, the game would crash fairly often when coming back from a race and loading the main menu. It wasn't until after downloading a game update did it fix.

I had this too, but next patch fixes it, witch is coming next week IIRC.
If you want, try beta;
http://steamcommunity.com/app/212480/discussions/0/864959336698326847/1. Go to the Steam Library Page.
2. Find game in the list!
3. Right click on the game, and choose 'Properties' from the context menu.
4. Click on the BETAS tab.
5. Choose the 'Beta - Beta' branch.
6. It'll want a password. The password for now is 'GottaGoFast'.
7. Click close to exit the Properties page...
8. Watch the game update...!
9. Play game as normal
Note at any time you can opt out of the Beta. Follow the above steps and choose the 'NONE - Opt out of all Betas' option instead of the Beta Branch at Step 5. This may require Steam to download the game again though. Be warned about that before you opt in!
