How do you even get Jewel Chao now?

Are they in the Black Market? or are PSN/XBLA players 100% screwed out of it? i know that in the original SA2, it was transferred through the VMU... in the Battle remake, you could use the GBA... but with this new remake having replaced the Transporter with a machine that literally only makes your chao go away, what do we do to get Gold, ruby, etc. Chao?
