This game though no, in my opinion is not the best Sonic game ever but is still a game I play just for the hell of it. It doesn't have the amazing graphics or the extreme speed, but Sonic is still quick on his feet and witty in his comments. This brings the Emerald Hunting and Shoot-n-Run from the original Sonic Adventure, with the normal Run to the Goal. Sonic fights the Ultimate Lifeform (Shadow the Hedgehog), Knuckles needs to find the pieces of the Master Emerald (again), and Tails has gotten all big and tough in his Tornado Mech. This game has a great storyline and the saddest ending to any Sonic game. This is also the darkest game of the series. For those who never played and are saying that Sonic Unleashed was the darkest game because Sonic "almost" became evil (?). But this goes to the extent where Eggman is really about to destroy the planet. Not release a dark beast, no literally destroying the planet entirely. If you don't have a Gamecube then get one just for this game. You will not regret it.
