This game plays just like the older 2D Sonic games, except now there's more characters, more stages, more everything. There are 4 characters: Sonic, Tails (Tails Rocks! Yay!), Knuckles, and Amy. Each character has 6 zones with 2 stages in them each; with a final boss battle featuring some old-school Sonic bosses. If you ever liked the old Sonic games but wished there was more depth to them, this is definitely what you want.
There is also single and multi-pak multiplayer, which is really fun if you can find someone willing to play. A Tiny Chao garden is also included in this game. It’s a fun little mode where you can raise a virtual pet, sort of, called a chao. You can also use a Gamecube to GBA link cable to transport your chao to a chao garden in SA2B or Sonic DX.
This game has awesome graphics and sound as well, there are some classic Sonic themes and the graphics have been well updated from the older Genesis games.
This game is fast paced with some strategy involved. With all the added extras like multiplayer, tiny chao garden, more characters, more stages, and even a hidden cheat that allows you to play as Sonic with Tails following behind, this game is highly addictive and will keep you busy for quite a while.
This is a game that any GBA owner should get, even if you don’t like sonic. This is definitely worth the $10 you’ll pay for it at any EB Games, so this is a game that no one should pass up. Guaranteed.
