The 2 character team works well with this 2D Sonic game and it has a good senese of speed.

Sonic Heroes was the first game to work with a tag team which was okay but the characters teams had all the same moves this is alot different and it works alot better because it and it actually makes it fun.

Story

The story is Dr Eggman is planning to make a new Empire and he needs all th Chaos Emeralds because of it and this time he has made a strong robot called Emerl to help him get rid of Sonic and friends.


Gameplay

The gameplay has that certain old school Sonic feel to it and the 2 characters tag team doesn't make the game any lss fun actually it possibly makes it better. It comes in handy if you are looking for chao which is what you need to access the special zone key. You need 10 altogether 3 in each act and one in the hub area. The special zones are fun you are flying the Tornado to get as many rings as possible to get an emerald bu if you fail you have to get the key again to open the special stage. The characters there's 5 Sonic,Tails,Knuckles,Cream and Amy. Sonic and Tails are avaliable from the word go but you need to progress further into the game to get the others unlocked. Each character has their own abilites and it works very nicely and it gives you a choice so experiment with each character until you find a partnership you like. Also after 3 acts you get a boss stage where you fight Dr Eggman in one of his battle machines and sometimes you face Ermel before Eggman.I like it like that there's 3 zones and a seperate boss level it makes the game longer and more fun. Also there are a few mini games in the hub worlds where you can gain extra lives so there's plenty to do.

Sound and graphics

It has some nice music and has a remix of the Green Hill Zone from the first Sonic game. Also the graphics are basically the same as the previous 2 games in the Advance series.

Overall Opinion

The game has a very good balance and is fun as well. The partnership system works a treat and it is totally different to the previous games because of that and it makes it good in case you are looking for chaos or just looking for extra 1 ups or rings. It's not to hard it is just right in terms of difficult. If you like 2D Sonic games give this a try.
