Features sonic fast speed thrilling moments and new additions for Sonic in 2-D

User Rating: 8 | Sonic Advance 2 GBA
Sonic Advance 2 fixes what was wrong with the first installment. The game has more of the sonic speed thrilling moments you know and love and not too much platforming that stops the action, like his predecessor. The graphics are a bit better with more animations like seeing multiple sonic's at the same time that describe that you are in high speed. The soundtrack is also better and fits stronger with each stage in a unique way then Sonic Advance 1.

However, Advance 2 also delivers some new issues in the gameplay. Of Course you love going in high speed with Sonic but later and harder levels will leave you with unexpected traps like no floor to keep running and die. And it gets annoying because while you enjoy Sonic in high speed, suddenly he can easily fall for enjoying too much of it. Another issue is that boss fights are more of a chase that make harder to reach dr.eggman's different machines and require a more precise timing in doing jumps. Also, if you get beaten by the boss you will have to restart act 1 and 2 for that world all over again.

Despite a few issues here and there, Sonic Advance 2 is still better than the original. However, Sonic Advance 3 is even better because it removes the issues from both 1 and 2 and that is why Sonic Advance 3 is the best of the series. Still, Sonic fans should definetely give a try to Sonic Advance 2 if you simply love 2-D Sonic gameplay.
