Possibly the worst Sonic the Hedgehog game ever released.

User Rating: 3.5 | Sonic 3D Blast GEN
In the end of the Sega Genesis console gaming, it sure didnt deserve a game like this. Everyone knows how succesfull Sonic the Hedgehog games where on the Genesis. It was immersive, and addictive. But 3D Blast is just one of those badly made spin offs that ruin all the hope fans had for the game.

Once again, Sonic the Hedgehog outwit the evil Dr. Robotnick to recapture Flickies Island. The goal is to get to the Chaos Emeralds before they fall into his hands.

The gameplay is also a little different.... instead of racing through the level, you have to kill all the enemies to free the birds (like the other Sonic games), but you have to make the birds follow you (by running over them). Then you have to lead them to these giant ring teleporters that either transport you to another part of the level, remove a barrier, or end the level. Each area has three "acts" or levels: two regular levels and a boss level, too bad the bosses are boring and rip offs form other sonic games.

There are like 8 zones, each are different but still...you are bored running around chekered squares, wich isnt really 3D. It can be difficult at times when you are behind something and you cant see since the camera view doesnt help like it does in REAL 3D enviroments. Not to mention how crappy the Special stages are.

The music is ok, but the Sega Saturn's soundtrack blows it away. The controls are bad also, not difficult since all you need is 2 buttons, one for jumping and other for the spin dash. You get a new move, nothing special, you need to collect a gold shield to do the "so called" 3D blast ...its pure meh

There isnt much gameplay either, its boring and once you finish it (thats if you decide to finish it) you might not comeback for more boredum.

In the end, this game should be avoided by anyone, it shouldnt have been made at all. I was a REAL Sonic the Hedgehog fan back in the day, and this game really dissapointed me. for the fact that i bought a Sega Saturn especially for Sonic Extreme wich was replaced by this ubber crap.

Graphics: +Sonic and friends are brightly colored and well done.
-Even if the titles says "3D" its not the 3D world we are used to play in . -the stages are boring, its like playing on a checker board.

Sound: +/-The music and sounds are ok, the Saturn version is way better.

Game Play: - Only 8 zones, each are different in a way but its still boring
- Very repetetive, the boss fights arent even appealing
-Where was the actuall speed that we where used to seeing in early Sonic games??
-Sonic is hard to controll, it feels clumsy

Replay Value: - none
