SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault does not get as much credit as it deserves.

User Rating: 8.5 | SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault PS2
The SOCOM franchise has always been my personal favorite. With an amazing control scheme, and a wide variety of weapons and terrain, it is no wonder why the franchise is so successful, or at least it used to be.
Combined Assault is the first SOCOM game to focus on just one specific region, which is the fictional country of Adjikistan. For it's time, the graphics were pretty much outdated, but the gameplay made up for that. The TCM (team command menu) looks more like SOCOM 2, but plays almost identical to SOCOM 3. The game also has an interesting story, considering that the previous entries in the SOCOM franchise has never really had an actual story to it.
The AI (artificial intelligence) has not really improved since the first SOCOM. But is that a bad thing? The answer to that is no. The AI is one of the most intelligent I have ever seen (well, at least on the ps2). Sometimes before you deploy onto the field, you will be given a list of missions to choose from. You are able to select one and play the game almost anyway you want to. All in all, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault is one of the best in in the franchise, but the most unappreciated.
