Simple summation: BUY THIS GAME!!
It's an absolutely amazing game that delivers on so many fronts that it's hard to know where to begin. The music and voice acting are top notch, the graphics are positively gorgeous, the puzzles are mostly intuitive and spot on for difficulty, the characters are interesting, the story is fun and evolves naturally.
The moment you land on the beach with the main character Sunny you may find her overly stereotypical, like if the developers had a severe lack of imagination. But that's not it at all; these guys know exactly what they're doing and having her being an over-the-top blond bimbo is part of the idea.
You see - this is a game that dares not to take itself too seriously; in here you'll find references to Star Wars, The Hulk, Indiana Jones, Superman, ancient Greek mythology, pirate lore, Riddick, Monkey Island, The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy. Heck - even "The Knights of NI!" from Monty Python are in here!
So except being a genuinely solid adventure game that can stand on it's own legs next to the monkey island series - it also sums up to a geek fest of seldom seen proportions.
I could go on but there really is no point. If you know what I'm talking about so far you realize that this is one of those games that you simply have to play.
I STRONGLY urge you to buy this game (I have) to support the developers since they've more than deserved it. Then lock yourself in and enjoy the game that is going to compete with "Still Life 2" and "A Vampire Story" for the title "best adventure game of the year".
If your wondering about any reservations... well - there are a lot of treasure chests on the island.... and I hope that it's possible to open them with some (hard guessed) easter eggs or I'll be a bit dissapointed (it's hinted that that it might be possible to open them)... yes... I've tried.... and tried..... we'll see...
