    10. Password help!

Several times throughout the game, you are required to input a key code. These codes often give people trouble for various reasons. Most often because of slight confusion of when to activate the code. These instances are as follows:

    The ZABY code
    The LARA code

    a. The ZABY code is required to escape the factory in the future. When the message box appears to enter the code, press the A button to close the text box, then press the X,A,B, and Y buttons in order. Sometimes you can accidentaly push the A button twice, causing an incorrect code input.

    b. The LARA code is required in the lucca flashback, to save Lucca's mother Lara from being crippled. This one is most commonly plagued by the double press of the A button. As you have to press A at the sparkling dot, then press it again to close the text box, then enter the password. After closing the text box, press the L, A, R, and A buttons in order. Spelling Lara. If you fail, don't worry, its not needed to complete the game, it just changes a few minor in game events.

    11. How do I climb Death Peak?

Once the poyozo doll flies off from the Keeper's Dome, go up to Death Peak. Immediately run behind the tree (And by "Behind" I mean below the tree on the screen, where it shields you from the wind). Once directly behind it, begin walking upwards as soon as the wind blows, so that you stay in place. Do the same for the other trees in this area to make it to the next area.

    12. I can't run Spekkio's three laps!

If you're having trouble, remember to run CLOCKWISE and walk instead of run for more control.

    13. How can I access the Northern Ruins?

Go to Cafe in 600 AD on the same island as the Northern Ruins and talk to the guy who looks like Taban. He says he lost his tools. Now go to Choras Inn in 1000 AD and talk to his descendant. Go get the tools from his wife. Give them to the guy in 600 AD and he gets to work. Now go to the ruins and talk to the guys. Clear out the monsters. Go to the guy's house and give him some cash to get back to work. Congrats. You now have entry to the Northern Ruins.

    14. How do I save Fiona's Forest?

You must travel to the commons in 12,000 BC and tell the woman holding the plant to plant it to initiate the quest. You also have the ability to do this in Zeal Palace.

    15. Where is the Hunting Range?

In 65,000,000 BC on the way to the Dactyl Nest, there should be an alcove in the forest to the left. There it is.

    16. Where is Sun Keep?

Go to the highest tip of the right side of the main continent. Now, continue going directly right and you should see it.

    17. Where is Sun Palace?

Go to the Arris dome in 2,300 AD. Then fly directly down until you see a mountain on an island with a cave.

    18. Where is Keeper's Dome/Death Peak?

From the right side of Lab 32 travel directly south on the Epoch. You should see a massive mountain on an island. Both of the places are on that island.

    19. How do I get that Nu to move in that hut in 12,000 BC?

Simply talk to him and wait until he leaves on his own.

    20. I can't beat the soda drinkin' contest!

Your best bet is to use a turbo controller. The 5 silver points really isn't worth the trouble.

    21. How do I get more cats and how many can I have?

Play the game of Norstien Bekkler to get a second cat. Continuously play this game to earn cat food. When you have enough cat food more cats will eventually come. You can have a total of 11 cats.

    22. How do I get the tab on the wall in Kajar?

Go into the room directly above where you see the tab. Once there search along the bottom wall where it should be on the other side to grab the tab.

    EMULATOR QUESTIONS
    --------------------------------
    23. I'm in 2300 A.D., and this dome is foggy!

A major problem with early SNES emulation was the inability to process layers properly. As a consequence many games have areas where the top effect layer completely overshadows everything else. There are several things you can do to alleviate this problem.

    a. Buy the game, cliché, I know, but if you weren't illegally playing the game, you wouldn't have this problem

    b. You can press number keys to disable the various sprite layers, allowing you to pass through the area. You can then re-enable them later

    c. Download the latest version of your emulator. All newer versions of emulator software have resolved this problem.

    d. Lastly, reconfigure your video settings, if you're using the DOS version of ZNES (which you shouldn't be as it is years out of date), Go to the Config menu and pick Video. Scroll down to the video mode: 640x480x16b VESA2 and select it.

    24. The door in the Arris Dome won't open!

This is one of the most asked questions on the chrono trigger board ever. Because you're using an emulator, you're using a keyboard to play this game more than likely. Almost all keyboards limit the number of simultaneous key presses to 2. Thus you can't hit 3 keys at once. Solving this is also rather simple once you know why the problem exists. Go to the config menu of your emulator, and set the L,R and A buttons to one key, and then walk up to the console and press that key. You can then reset your keys to the way they were originally. If that doesn't work, set two to one key, and the other to a second key, then press both at once.

    STORY/ENDING QUESTIONS
    ---------------------------------------
    25. How do I get X ending?

If you're looking for a specific ending, check the ending faq here at gamefaqs.
    http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/file/chrono_trigger_ending.txt

    26. Who is the Entity?

You may have seen the team speak about an Entity in a campfire scene during Fiona's forest sidequest. There are many theories on the subject, including those suggesting that there isn't an Entity at all. The game leaves this up to you to come to your own conclusion.

    27. What is Gaspar's last quest?

Simple translation error. He was meant to say that everyone was close to someone who needed help, and to find them fast. However, it is sometimes still argued that he was speaking about the relationship between Magus and Queen Zeal, because once you defeat her, he stops speaking of the quests.

    28. Where did Schala go!?

What happened to Schala is unknown in Chrono Trigger. Some have their theories, but it will never truly be known.

    29. Is Janus Schala's step-brother?

Another translation mistake. Janus and Schala are full-blooded brother and sister.

    30. Should I kill Magus or not?

It depends on the ending you want, really. Should you decide to kill magus with Frog alone, he will have reverted to his human form in the ending, and you get Magus' amulet. If you get him on your team, Frog may be eternally cursed, but you get a bit more story for Magus and a very powerful ally. He comes equipped with the amulet.

    31. What gender is Flea?

Flea is most definitely a man. It has been confirmed through e-mailing Square on this matter.

    BOSSES
    -----------
    How do I beat...

    32. Magus?

Magus is another boss that seems to give people fits. First off, you should be in the low to mid 20's in level. Lower than that, you might want to level up in the castle a bit first. Magus's attack strategy is simple, he has a barrier, that prevents you from hitting him with anything but the type of magic he's currently using. If he's hit with the masamune, his magic defense for that type of magic lowers. In order to make sure you can always hit him, choose lucca as your third party member. With her fire magic, and the crono frog and lucca's triple tech, you'll have all four elements covered. Use frog to heal the party when needed. Eventually magus lowers his barrier to cast dark matter. You can hit with everything you have at this point. The key is to only hit him with the magic that can damage him, otherwise he'll be healed.

    33. The Golem Twins?

This is the most asked question on the Chrono Trigger board of all time. The Golem Twins however are an incredibly easy boss if you know how to defeat them. Every time you attack them, the golems copy that attack be it physical, lightning, fire ect. Unless you've overly leveled, the golems physical counter will probably kill a character. The lightning will severely damage you, and the fire and water attacks are weak. On top of all that, they have another physical attack that halves your HP. Unless you've overly leveled, you're not going to have spells like luminare and flare yet, so blasting them to death is usually not an option. There are a few tried and true strategies, I will list them here.

NOTE: most of these strategies are listed in faqs.

    a. Use an attack that puts the golem twins to sleep, such as lucca's hypno wave, and ayla and robo's duel tech boogie, and then use strong physical attacks. My favorite combination is using hypno wave to put them to sleep then ayla and Crono's falcon hit to hit both golems at once.

    b. Use any attack pattern you want, but have the last character use a fire or water spell. The only tech copied that will be used against you is the fire or water attack. You can then heal and repeat. By using fire or water absorbing or repelling armor, you may not even need to heal.

    c. If you have gotten the elemental vest/ mails at this point in the game, equip them on a party member and attack with the element they absorb, your other two characters might die, but you'll easily win the battle. If you really leveled, you'll have the higher magic spells by this point. Either equip Crono with the white mail, and use luminare, or equip Lucca with the red mail, and use flare. If you've leveled that high though, chances are you won't need the mail to beat them anyway.

    d. Use elemental 2 spells such as fire 2 ect, in a manner that will completely confuse the golem twins. This is probably the hardest strategy, as it requires you to time your spell casting, so the golem twins are always copying a new tech, and never have time to use it.

At the end of the battle, both golem twins will copy the tech Dalton uses after you defeated him the first time. So make sure you have some hp left.

    34. Son of Sun?

First thing you need to do is equip fire resistant armor to make the battle easy. If you need to, take a trip to 65,000,000 BC to pick up some Ruby Armors from the trading hut. When fight the Son of Sun, it is important to know that you NEVER attack him directly. That means no all enemy attacks. Just attack the flames surrounding him randomly with normal attacks until one doesn't counter-attack you. Now concentrate you attacks on that flame. After a while, Son of Sun will shuffle the flames and you'll have to find the right one again. Repeat this process for a while and with a little luck, this battle should be over soon.

    35. Inner Lavos?

Be atleast level 45. If you are doing incredibly terrible, make your team Crono, Ayla, and Robo. Prism Spec Robo, and Sun Shade Crono. Ayla will have to make do with what accessories you have left. Also, equip Robo with the Crisis Arm. Make sure you have everyone equiped with a prism helm. Get as many mega elixers as possible. Don't be afraid to use them or any items you have. They will carry over on New Game+ as though you didn't use them.

For the first inner form, you should attack the right arm first as it can heal. After that, take out the left arm. Shouldn't take too long before it falls as well. The head will now start using powerful attacks, so keep healed up. Now go all out and finish him off.

For the second and final inner form, get Robo to 999 hp and have him cast uzi punch on the left bit. It should be a one hit kill. This is essential, because magic heals it and you want to be able to cast Luminaire and Shock freely. Now in a couple turns the right bit's defense should drop. Let loose and attack the right bit with everything you have. Uzi Punch when the opportunity occurs. He shouldn't last too long. Don't forget to use mega elixers when neccessary.

WS'll have to ask a mod. So going to MBH would probably be the best course of action.

#28 is erroneous. One can find the answer to that questtion by playing Chrono cross. I won't say anything else, wouldn't want to get banned for spoilers without warning.

I guess you to mess on us was a mistake, but you're an i-d-i-d-o-t-h!

A mod needs to see it for it to get sticky'd. This is good an all... But the game came out 10 years ago... Good luck getting it sticky'd.
