A smurf a day keeps the smurf away

I must admit that I have not played Farmville so I cant really talk about the differences or the similarities between the two. The Smuf's Village is certainly in the same genre. That is... a farming / village management game, but set in the world of The Smurfs of course.

The idea is to earn coins by harvesting fruit and vegetables that you have planted and using those coins to buy buildings, decorations for your village and more varieties of plants. Some of the buildings introduce new Smurf characters to your village who in turn offer things like daily mini-games and XP bonuses.

There is a second currency in the game called Smufberries that can be bought with real world money in various bundled denominations. Spending these Smurfberries speeds up the game to a tremendous pace allowing access to your crops, buildings and mini-games instantly.

The Smurf's Village also has easy to follow daily 'quests' given by Papa Smurf, giving a sense of a story, and granting you more XP and coin.

This game has a beautiful smurfy art style very in keeping with the look of the cartoons. The music is cheerful and in keeping with the theme.

This is a fun little game for any smurf fan but I'm not sure how the more seasoned Farmville style gamer will judge it. There currently isn't much to do in-game that would require you to log in more than once or twice a day. But I do see a lot of room for more content and complexity as the game matures.
