Fantastic game, I love this remastered version.

User Rating: 8.5 | Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus PS3
Sly Cooper is one of those iconic PS2 characters that even if you haven't played the games, you might recognize him as a video game character. The game production is pretty good, if you completely dismiss the voices from Sly itself. Game mechanics are always evolving if you manage to collect the secret bottles and open the safes with the new moves. Game play is smooth, but quite too easy for it's good. Most enemies are killed with one hit, and they're not many of them, so the game is based on the platforming element, great implementation but also very easy to pull off.

There are some variety in the game play with some of the missions, including racing, shooting etc. It keeps the game fresh and entices you to keep playing it to get to the boss fights, that can be also easily figured out, but it might take you a few times to get them out of the way. The real big problem itself is with the very monotonic Sly voice, it really takes you out of the game in comparison with the other characters that have a well balanced voice. Sly sounds like a guy that's reading a few lines, with no acting in the voice and no direction on how he should read them. I would not complain about this is it wasn't a huge turn off every-time it was there.

The Sly Cooper collection it's a great package that I would recommend to any platformer enthusiastic or Sly fan. 3D works just fine if you have a 3D TV set and Trophies are very easy to get, in fact it was the first Platinum that I ever got. It's a short ride, but it's great while it lasts.
