I think it's hard to get mobile games right since you are limited by screen-size and control scheme. Developers that understand these limitations and design around it have the ability to make something simple but entertaining.
In Slingshot racing, your vehicle travels forward, and you tap and hold the screen to hook onto poles which allow your car to turn, and let go to disconnect and exit the turn. It's about judging angles and using momentum to navigate the course.
There's a few different events, so there's the standard races, time-trail, elimination, and one where you have to collect several cogs. You are awarded up to 3 stars in each event, with races being unlocked by accumulating a certain amount.
The graphics are very detailed and it has a steam-punk aesthetic.
