With the definitive edition out now, I remember playing this when it first came out, and wasn't impressed back then. I took it off my computer, which I do not do to games I like, as I intend to play them more. But I was not impressed with this game. With the new hype over the definitive edition, I redownloaded the original, and see some glaring problems with this game. Using a controller, the controls being the foremost problem. It feels like I am fighting the controls the entire time. There is no analogue movement. You are either stopped, jogging by pressing the stick, or sprinting by pressing a button. And the dead zones are huge. Terrible.
The fighting can be fun, but by todays standards, I cannot play this game as the controls are terrible otherwise. This type of game should be played with a controller, but maybe I will try with a mouse and keyboard and see if it can be any better. But right now, I am thinking of taking it off my hard drive again. The experience is so meh.
20 min later: I tried it with mouse and keyboard, and no sale. It is off my computer once again.
