Sky Roads does something that few others can do...
If you’re looking for a REALLY addictive game, look no further. Sky Roads succeeds to deliver a perfect gaming experience trough lots of racing and jumping while it looks just like a classic platformer. With pretty simple controls (up and down for acceleration and left and right for steering plus jumping with space for jumping on keyboard) you might think Sky Roads is just another simple arcade oldie. Well, You’re wrong, although earlier levels are a peace of cake, later ones get to be really challenging and entertaining.
Game consists of 10 chapters, each with 3 different levels although the real difference between chapters is in the background and sometimes levels of the same chapter have nothing in common. In the beginning you will find yourself jumping from one place to another, steering around and avoiding obstacles but soon the real challenge begins. During the game you will see more types of land with different effects like dangerous reds or Speedy greens. The Gravity Power which measures jumping height is shown at the bottom of the screen .In addition to that, Sky Roads has two bars showing the remaining O2 and fuel which you should keep an eye on.
Graphics are good and combined with cute but simple colors, game looks nice. Sounds are really few and simple. Most of the time you only hear Jumping and some times exploding while other effects come rarely (such as refueling). Sky Roads has no story and your only goal is to reach the finish point in every level before you run out of O2 or fuel.
Although it is highly addictive and entertaining lack of a recording system and high scores board is disappointing. Game has a simple presentation and quick access menu system which allows you to choose a chapter and start the race. In the end, if you're after a addictive racing game that never gets old, then Sky Roads is just for you.(I, myself have been playing SR since I was 9 and now that I’m 20, SR is still entertaining for me.) PURE FUN!!
