- Apr 12, 2012 4:30 am GMTHow does this game compare to the above?.
- Apr 12, 2012 4:33 am GMTI would like to know too.
- Apr 12, 2012 4:36 am GMTAH3 is a fanservice game of all the anime girl stereotypes. This game has actual interesting cool characters.
From tournament footage I've seen AH3 has 4 playable characters in a cast of 20 or so with different summons to equip. This so far has 8 well balanced and playable characters, with extra depth in going in solo, 2 team, or 3 team.
AH3 is a game most people have never heard. And most people in the FGC only know of but haven't played.
AH3 sucks. This game doesn't...
It's more like BlazBlue or Guilty Gear with added depth of team play, IMO.

Dude, this game I never played totally sucks, and has only like 4 characters according to the 1 tournament I saw (which made me a master at the game, by the way)!! - Apr 12, 2012 4:42 am GMTThey're both good and fun games. I don't know why people want to trash other fighting games so much. Its great that there are so many different ones all with their own style and unique mechanics. Its these differences that make this my favourite genre.

Not changing this sig until i go to sleep started : 13/01/06 00:40 am GT: Jaydragon117 Flight of dragons is #1. - Apr 12, 2012 4:51 am GMTWell, I ACTUALLY played Arcana Heart 3 religiously for a while. The differences come down to some major things. One, that guy was right, there are lots of fanservice anime girl things in that game...lots of them. The gameplay is very different from other fighting games, and it's much easier to be cheap in Arcana Heart. About 4 playable out of 24? I'd go with that. There are about 4 characters in Arcana that are just so absurdly strong compared to the others that it's unfair. Arcana is unbalanced as hell. The Arcanas themselves actually just make that worse, with some of them being so weak that they do about 10% of your bar, and others doing up to 70% of your bar. The way the special meter works is pretty broken...it refills on it's own. Theres a button that makes you home in and dash to your opponent. Arcana is broken as hell and is nothing like this game. But they are both fun in completely different ways.

As a Fenrir Fiona I resent this because its ignorant as hell. The top 4 are auto pilot characters and the meter regaining is actually why the top 4 auto pilot. But the meter regain is why some characters are actually playable like FIo because Fio has some of the worst recovery I've ever seen.

You just game more reasons as to why I'm right...you use Fenrir...AND Fiona? What you have to hit the opponent like 3 times to win? And you just gave the actual reason why the top 4 are the top 4, and it's due to one of the stupid features in the game...

Of course in videos there generally are, but in the tournaments there weren't. And even if the characters are different, some of the Arcanas are so good that the character doesn't matter.

You don't know how to block do you son? Also my "hit 3 times and win" moves as you say are slow, easy to 4D and quite frankly if you die to it alone you need to rethink how you play

Actually they were tournies and ranbats. Even Fiona was played.
Off the top of my head I remember Heart, Fiona, Eka, Lilica, Catherine, Akane, Konoha, Kira, Weiss and some Clair being played and this is from various vids. I don't know who's top and who isn't (save for Heart and Akane, I think) but I don't think people just pick the same couple of characters in that game. Only thing I saw that looked terribly one sided was Cathe vs Lightning Kira since Kira could keep Cath trapped in her throw range.

Don't condescend to me. I'm an adult just like you, and I did not speak to you that way. Do not speak to me as such. And yea sure I know how to block. That doesn't matter, you're bound to confirm at some point. All it takes is one QCF P, then a super, and it's over. It doesn't matter how easy it is to defend if it's a good strategy that will win. By that logic, Maximum Wesker wouldn't be a good super because pretty much anything can stop it. There's a reason she's considered to be one of the easiest and best characters to use. It's because she is. I'm not saying there's no high level play, of course there is, but that doesn't mean that AH3 isn't full of scrubby things to do that are just as efficient if not more efficient.

Words are meaningless now. Dance with me, brother!-Melfice - Apr 12, 2012 5:36 am GMTI can't say I know who the top 4 are, but I play Ice Fiona, Fire Konoha, and haven't settled on Arcana for Zenia, Akane, or Nazuna (I think that's her name)
But I find both games fun, though in Skullgirls I haven't picked who I want to use aside from Valentine. - Apr 12, 2012 5:37 am GMTAlso, Arcana has a lot of longevity to it, with lots of combinations. I think you'd like both. But again, for completely different reasons.
