The word "Epic" is so over used these days

It seems like today any game that is slightly better than average is immediately called epic, how can something be epic if every other game today has huge cities for you to explore? it's not even a big deal anymore with games like Assassin's Creed, Arkham City, GTA, RDR, etc.
But you know what? I can count on one hand the number of games I consider truly epic in the current generation of video games.
Games like Skies of Arcadia, that featured a huge variety of cities and areas for the player to explore are the truly epic games, because when those games came out, creating such games was difficult, the developers faced so many limitations and yet managed to create games that can be enjoyed even today, more than 10 years later.
Get this game if you want to understand the meaning of the word epic.
