The want to be a sky pirate was magnified after playing a game to this extent of glory. Even as a general RPG player, I grew partial to this game much like I did with Final Fantasy VII. The entire game is solid from the very beginning, with little to complain about. With a dense plot, memorable events, mini-games to keep you occupied throughout your main journey, and an engrossing storyline that seemingly has no end, Skies of Arcadia is a game that even holds weight this very day. To create a good RPG, you need to have every angle balanced properly; story, characters, plot, longevity of the main story, and side-quests should we wish to take a break from the story and enjoy the beauty of the game's world itself. Skies of Arcadia accomplishes this and all the while never makes you feel like you are missing any part of the action. There is a feeling that cannot be described when games like this are looked back upon; even the very visual connection to the box art brings back memories of long lasting happiness and warmth. If I still had a working Dreamcast, I would still be playing it. Long live the days of Nostalgic roleplay.
