Something fishy here...GAMESPOT taking backhanders perhaps?
The guy at the store said I was the only person to buy it so far. I have a horrible feeling the Halo machine will bury it. Which is a shame.
This is a beautifully crafted game. Fun, elegant, skillful and incredibly zen-like. If only all games showed this level of passion and made you smile while playing. Graphically it shines with some perfectly pitched environments and nicely created animations. The audio is a treat for the ears and really immerses the player.
The best feature however is the sensitive and deft control scheme. It requires skill and imagination to exploit fully but can be picked up in minutes by a novice (even my non-game friendly girlfriend enjoyed it!). It amde me realise just how stiff and old-school Tony H had become. This is Z-boy fluidity and skill tht makes you appreciate even the basic ollie in all its glory. THAT is an achievement.
Heaven is indeed a halfpipe. Fingers crossed this grows next year with proper support. A true next-gen gem.
