After playing Skate, you may never play another Tony Hawk game ever again.
Skate uses one of the best story's you can use for a skateboarding game. Getting Coverage, and getting Sponsored. Getting Coverage is pretty mandatory for getting sponsored by the bigger skate company's, so you will be shooting photos for The Skateboard Mag, and Thrasher. Along the way, you will do Filming Challenges, Owning Spots, et cetera, in order to get Noticed by the Big company's such as Almost, Zero, DC Shoes, Girl, éS, Independent, Spitfire, and so on.
The new Flick-it system is where a good portion of Realism takes place, Flicking the Right Analog stick in ways you would sort of flick your feet on a real Skateboard. It might take awhile to get used to the Flick-it system, but once you get the hang of it, you will really enjoi it. (see what i did there? i'm so clever.)
Gameplay: After playing Skate, i can never go back to a Tony Hawk game, ever. Skate really brings an awesome mixture of Fun, and Realism, the Flick-it system is great. So many Brands of Decks, Trucks, Wheels, and Shoes. You can choose the Loose-ness/Tight-ness of you're Trucks, along with the Hardness/Softness of you're Wheels. You can choose you're own Style, Normal, Loose, Aggressive. Mike Carroll, Pat Duffy, Paul Rodriguez, Chris Cole, PJ Ladd, and tons of other great Pros are in the game.
Graphics: Skates Visuals, Level Design, and overall Graphics are Stunning. Character Design is Incredible, San Venalona is Amazing. Frame-rate glitches tend to happen but Rarely. 1080p makes everything even more Visually great.
Sound: A Great selection of Music, such as The White Stripes, Nirvana, Valient Thor, Motörhead , and so on. Great Voice acting for all characters. You can hear the wheels Spinning after popping a trick while going fast, which i think it pretty cool.
Skate will last you a very, very long time. There is much to do after beating the main story, and Online play is pretty good.
Cons: Well, every game has some cons. Not being able to get off you're board can be a pain, just getting around can be so much easier if you could get off you're board. Local Multi-Player is fun, but there is no Free-Skate mode for Local Multi-player, which really disappointing.
I Highly Recommend Skate, weather you skate in reality or not, you will love skate.
