This is a perfectly good karaoke game, but it struggles with two major problems. First, they make it exceptionally difficult to learn when new songs are available for download. Because they do not list a download date and only cycle a dozen or so songs through their "new songs' folder, if you don't check the sing store for a few weeks, you can miss an entire series of new options. Providing release dates or, better yet, an email list sign-up for notification, would fix this problem. The second problem is the choice of songs. They are very limited and it seems they are picked by someone who has never gone to a karaoke bar. There are easily 100 sings that are karaoke classics ("I Will Survive" is a great example, even though I hate that song), but those are passed over for some fairly obscure songs. Even more frustrating is that some very good songs are offered in Europe but not in the U.S. It is fairly clear the SingStar is looking to provide the songs it can purchase at the cheapest prices from the artists rather than the ones in the highest demand. That's a tremendous disappointment.
