- The Bottom Line:
Sin Episodes looks like a Half Life 2 mod graphically, but with all interesting elements of the gameplay removed. I guess this would be the way to describe this game. Somehow I cannot but compare it to Half Life 2. The Sin's Ep. gameplay mechanics are similar, environments are well done too, you can manipulate objects, etc. But otherwise it is a disappointing experience. The main character Blade is not really likable in my opinion. The whole story seems to be taken from a bad movie full of cliches, the characters (both positive and negative) are irritating and almost repulsive. Weapons are lame, enemies are all alike, it is just one guy cloned. In Half Life 2 most civil protection soldiers also look alike (they wear masks), but it had a very different feel, it was fun, but in Sin Ep. it looks terrible. The gameplay is an unsuccessful wannabe of Half Life 2. In general, if you do not mind the bad story and if you like the characters (may be from the first Sin game), this might be an OK game to play, since technically and graphically it is good. But I guess that if you played and liked Half Life 2, you might find Sin Ep. just a bad, cheezy and dumbed down imitation.
