Dirty mouth-ass-kicking-cyber-punk roller-coaster!

As I said game design is very primitive (I think "consolized" is the word here): just a running-sliding-shooting mindless chaos. It's as linear as it can be. There are tons of things to smash or kick but they are always highlighted, so no exploring or thinking in that aspect either. Basically, its a banal linear shooter striped of any other creative action - but that is just the way it was meant to be. Obviously, accent was put on delicate physics and shooting system which are conducted flawlessly. For a long time I didn't feel such joy when striking a headshot. Yummy!!! Correspondingly, when striking special shots you get points which you can use to by upgrades and ammo. Its a very rewarding shooting-scoring system - old as gaming itself - that just pushes you forward.
Like the gameplay the main plot is also quite bold and primitive. - it's not Hamlet but it will keep you interested all the way. Scenario is filled with profanities and toilet humor. Honestly, this is what I like the best in Bulletstorm. I tend to look at myself as a teenager trapped in a man's body and I am totally into immature humor filled with senseless violence.... as long as it's done right and with Bulletstorm - it's hilarious.
Graphics and sound design are as cool as you can get - having in mind the fact that the game was also designed for PS3/Xbox. It certainly pushed the Unreal engine to its maximum. Wide open spaces, atmospheric and water effects, foliage - it is all rich and vibrant. The textures are sharp and detailed enough, unlike many other games using this engine which are usually kinda pale & blurry.
Conclusion: Bulletstorm represents pure essence of gaming experience. It is a plain fun, period. I am aware that many gamers look for something more complex and engaging. If that is the case this simply is not game for you. However if you enjoy mindless killing and space pirating (arrr, mateys!) don't miss this one. Bare in mind that, as many modern shooters, this game is relatively short, though I haven't tried multiplayer. I hope it's good...
