great game... but outdated and buggy on a top line windows 7 system..SC5 needed!!
Anyway, the game is great and all, the A.I is way beyond it's time, but you wont get alot of map space to build a city in. My record pop. was only 150k on my 2nd try. If you want to recreate real cities like toronto well you wont be able to. The map is not that big, but you can connect cities and load them back and forth and do different things to try to help your other cities out, which can be fun. But man when your cities gets in excess of 70-75k those fires can get damn annoying. You gotta click on them and put out the fire yourself. And the game pauses, and this was happening ALOT. also buildings tend to decay for various reasons like land value, pollution or lack of a necessary ingredient. And they just sit there abandonded unless I do it myself. Man i can't do everything im not GOD i just wanna be the mayor and city planner.
But yeah i hope maxis puts in a sim city 5 for next gen systems ill jump on it for sure. With bigger city space, updated graphics, bug fixes and possibly some different options on building densities. maybe some scenarios too, like challenges maybe? Getting a residintial skyscraper seems kinda random, they could emerge at any size who knows . I want a good pop. so i could generate some income but if they keep popping into little houses what am i supposed to do keep bullldozing em? It doesnt feel like it should. I want to feel like a real MAYOR. but hell, its still a damn lot of fun, wish i could help maxis on this ;p game has great potential
My conclusion, great game , excellent blast in the past but beware of bugs. Only pick this one up, if you got windows xp. Vista or windows 7 tend to crash excessivly and theres no autosave feature. So you may be playing and boom your sitting looking at your desktop, funny? not really its annoying ;p
