SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition has SimCity 4 and the expansion pack, Rush Hour. It's a fun city building sim that's easy to grasp. The tutorials usually take under an hour and you get the flow of things pretty quickly. Being a mayor, you can decide to build a thriving megalopolis or a quaint coutry town. Your advisors help you plan out your city. The game is pretty thourough, as it includes all types of buildings from Police Stations to Airports. You can also zone areas which build by themselves. Also to take a break from the mayor related tasks, there are missions that you can do with vehicles that you can unlock with buildings. The missions are usually straight forward, but it's mostly just going from point A to B. Though you could get reward buildings that boost your city's desirability. And if building a city and driving through it isn't enough for you, than maybe destroying the city into oblivion might entertain. There is a variety of disasters that you can unleash onto your unsuspecting town. That includes twisters to a ufo invasion. The graphics aren't very good as you are only limited to 4 views so most of the objects are in 2D. The sound effects are better though you can hear car honkings and jackhammers and mostly other city related sounds. The game is fairly cheap by now which makes it a great gift for a simmer in your family. (Though they might want to be patient with it.)
