Obsessed with my city

User Rating: 9.5 | SimCity SNES
Simcity offered something unique that no other game in its day gave. It robbed you of hours upon hours and you built and planned an built some more.

I can remember it like it was yesterday. The graphics were cute and the sound effects humorous. I must have built hundreds of cities looking for that perfect Megalopolis. The gameplay didn't depend upon your twitch speed or how fast you can mash buttons. It depended upon intelligent design and logical placement of three main facets such as Residential, Commercial, and Industrial plus those ubiquitous gifts that were doled out every once in a while.

I lived for those gifts and spent entirely too much time immersed in that game. It didn't hurt the thumbs like so many other SNES games but it did rob you of your day. It was fun coupled with obsession until that one magical moment when you get that prized award...the Mario Statue.
