Great approach to squad based combat
It has the player development and inventory management of an RPG, while the combat unfolds in a very cool turn based style and it mostly revolves around fighting.
I would say the combat system is easily the highlight of this game. You have a number of action points to distribute each turn, so you have to carefully plan your steps or else you will end a turn standing and vulnerable to enemy gun fire.
There is a great range of WW2 weapons, including explosives. The environments are fully destructible and there is kind of a rag doll physics engine for corpses, which is neat. As mentioned in the Gamespot review, the destructable environments really influence gameplay as you can blow a room apart from a distance and kill the enemies inside without exposing your team to gunfire.
A "9" is a high score to give a game, however, I think that this game's unique gameplay merits this score. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of marketing support for this game so it is kind of unheard of, however, it is rewarding, unique and memorable--especially if you like team based combat.
