Respect must be paid to the grand daddy of survival horror

Truly Amazing, There is not much more that really need to be said, this game took the torch from Resident Evil and just kept running. The gameplay is pretty well a take off on the Resident evil engine although there has been much improvement to the Melee weapons, which you better get used to because Ammo in this game is a luxury. The learning curve for those who have not played any of the Resident Evil style games may be a touch more then you are used to, maybe an hour before you are fully comfortable with the controls. The Graphics are nothing groundbreaking as far as the characters and enemies look but the fog effects and the night effects are done very well, without a doubt the best I have seen in a game up to the point of its release. The maps and layout are a very smart finish, and very detailed The Sound is something that is done to a tee, perfect one of the first games that really used it to add to the game, it made it very errie, and it made a huge difference, playing this game muted and playing it with the sound on makes a HUGE difference its not the type of game that you can play muted while on the phone. The puzzles in this game are another thing that just make it fantastic, alot less of Resident Evils, Insert Item A into Slot B and alot more puzzles, the piano one was something that just blew me away, took forever to get it but rewarding when I was past that point. This game is a classic in every sense of the word and in a way gave birth to all that came after it, it may be a bit dated by some standards but its still a worthy play -Z
