One very, very disturbing horror game. If you can hold your nerves, read on...

Back in 1999, when i first played this game, it sent the s**** right up me. Thats putting it lightly. I recently played it again, to bring a bit of nostalgia back, and the game has lost none of its edge. It goes to show you that graphics mean nothing, when everything else is done right.
The story goes...Harry Mason and his daughter go for a little holiday in the quaint little town of Silent Hill. Upon entering the town, a figure jumps out onto the road, sending Harry's car hurtling off the road. He wakes up in his car, to see Cheryl is missing.
The game kicks off from here. You're pitted in an eerie town, full of fog, and have to follow clues to where your daughter is.
You go from many locations in the game; from a school, hospital, mall etc. All locations have a key role in the story. One of the alienating things some people found with the game, was its rather puzzling story. Even after the credits role, the story still leaves you alittle confused. For me this is what made the game so appealing. And its a shame, because the newer SH games tend to go for a more clear story.

Graphics: Obviously, there dated. But nothing stops this game being, one of the scariest games ever created. 8

Sound: The soundtrack is still an unearthly creation. Every note that's played on every track, is bone chilling. Perfect. 10

Gameplay: A little on the dated side. Find key open door formula, but the game is 11 years old... 7

S**** Box: Gameplay is a little dated.

Overall: One of the scariest games i've ever played. If you have the nerves to play threw it, buy it. You wont regret it. An absolute, masterpiece.
