A lot of people have criticised this collection since its release, condemning its voice acting and complaining that the new graphics don't make it worth paying for. In my opinion, these are probably the same people who paid full price for a limited edition copy of Mass Effect 3, or *shudder* the Elite version of Modern Warfare 3, so forgive me if I don't take their criticisms without a huge pinch of salt.

Sure, the improved graphics and voice acting aren't reasonable selling points, but that's not what you pay for with the Silent Hill collection. Any of the die hard fans of the series remember the fear Silent Hill instilled, how they would sit in front of their TV screens at night with all the lights off, scared out of their wits at the horrors the town would throw at them. This HD collection is a chance for those fans to re-live those good times and be scared all over again, as well as allowing players new to the franchise to discover just what made Silent Hill define the horror genre. I reckon that's more than worth the $60 price of admission.
