Harry was safe...but what of Cheryl?

I had seen the commercial for this game back in 2003, and since I was a big fan of the original Silent Hill (and I still am), I thought to myself, "I have to get that game!"...and I did, a year later.
The minute I got home from the video game store (which store, you ask? Another story for another time), I immediately went to my room, took out the game, and......went to the kitchen to make a hamburger! (it was a long walk and I was hungry) Once my meal was devoured, I went back to my room and popped in the game.
Just like the original, it starts off with a sense of calmness--as calm as it can be--then all of a sudden, smacks you in the face with a fear stick. After the fear is over, you awaken in another area with that feeling of calmness again.
Playing as a new character, Heather, you're on a new adventure to find your way out of the hellish world from which you were pulled into. This game is probably the most gruesome in the series, with a creepy atmosphere, all kinds of scenes of hanging bodies, bloody walls, and other things you might need to see for yourself to understand. The story itself is good, too: you find out not only about the origins of the towns cursed outcome, but also Heather's origin as well.
The gameplay is great for a survivor-horror title; the weapons you find are decent for the situation, and the puzzles are more than challenging enough to keep your brain on track.....unless you spend too much time staring at the tv.
If you enjoyed the original Silent Hill, then I recommend playing this one if you haven't already......just don't go any farther than SH3; as a fan of the original SH games, trust me when I say this: going farther than SH3 is NOT worth it!!
