Yarr? Pretty game, but not much to it.

Firstly, this is by no means a bad game. It is very pretty and you will entralled for the first hour or so most likely. Here is the catch, it is terribly redundent. The game has about 4 minigames where you do the same thing over and over and over again. For example you must swordfight... sounds fun right? It is... the first 10 times or so. But the same 1 or 2 animation sequence's are used for every battle. It gets a little old. This can be said about pretty much every one of the mini games. They are great to see, but tend to get a little monotonus after a while. The best part of this game by far is the ship to ship battles. This offers a fair amount of variation and stratagy. Do you go kamakazie style and ram the ship or try to rip there sails to shreds. Or do you play it cool and hang back pummeling them with cannon balls. The rest of the minigames are more or less forgettable and get redundent. I was also a bit dissapointed with the plot, because... well there really wasnt one. Rescue your family from a pirate that captured them i suppose would be the most clear plotline. But the animation sequences you get are not particilarly rewarding. There is also no real clear end to the game. You just kinda finish when you feel your done. You get a stats page and thats it! No end movie... no big re-uniting with your family. It kind of leaves you with a feeling of... ohh... is that it? Anyway, if you can look past these things it is a fun little romp, just know what you are buying.
