Civilization 3 is one great game. You can play as one of many civilizations and become number one. This is a very difficult game at first because if you were new to it like me, you do not have a clue on how to play. After about an hour the gameplay is more familiar and quite fun. The graphics are pretty plain but the gameplay and sound is well done. If you are a huge fan of Civilization or even Sid Meier then this may be a game to be thinking about to purchase. However, if you want a better game than this then Civilization 4 would be a better buy simply because it is newer and more stuff is added. One more thing about Civilization 3 that really makes it different from strategy games is that rather than having a strong military like in Ages of Empires or Rise of Nations, you must have a powerful civilization. If you do not have a great power, then you might as well just retry because a poor and weak civilization will get you no where.
