Oh please Christians.. We let you have your imaginary friends in real life, so why can't we have a same sex relationship with ours in a video game?

So, we're all up in arms about homosexuality in a game, but it's okay for video game characters to kill each other and practice a (fictional) "false" religion? Hypocrisy anyone? If a Christian truly believes their doctrine, if an "unsaved" person quits playing a gay-featuring game, or even if a gay person decides to go straight, they (according to the Bible) are still headed for the opposite of Heaven unless they surrender to Jesus; so I say let the World do what it wants. "Judgment begins with the House of God" so, though I'll surely get flamed, how bout this - If you're a Christian, doesn't God want you to spend your time in better ways than playing games and entertaining yourself - try praying, helping others, etc.

It seems like almost every time someone mentions a religion as long as it is not Christianity, things are fine, but if Catholicism or some branch of Christianity is brought into the mix, tempers flare and fights start. It is enough to remove my hope that humanity may have a peaceful future.

@savior316 You, are an idiot. Star Wars The Old Republic, and Bioware, are *not* promoting homosexuality. What they are doing is what they have done with all their BLOCKBUSTER games, which is providing the OPTION for the player that, if they so choose, can have the type of storyline they want in THEIR game. It will be a player option, meaning if the player wants to pursue it they can, but nobody is forcing them to do so, nor is it being "promoted". Guess what, I hate to burst your bubble but there are gay people in the world. It's not what floats my boat but Bioware will be far better off to cater to more demographic groups rather than less, and they are the most respected rpg developer in gaming history so its in their best interest to be inclusive rather than exclusive. Also, in case you missed it, Star Wars doesn't have anything to do with Christianity.

I'm not sure why anyone would want anything to do with a game that promotes homosexuality.

@Plataea first off, don 't blame -all- Christians for the actions of a small idiotic, elitist, dogmatic, few. Second, as a Christian I disapprove, wait for it, of the actions of the group condemning Bioware's choice for the game. It's no ones business but the players if they play a gay character and get married. I find the -idea- of getting married in a game somewhat creepy in and of itself, but hey... whatever works for you. @alex33x please keep the insults and condemnations to a minimum because some of the people you game with might very well be Christians and would be hurt by your categorization of their beliefs. You wouldn't want someone to belittle you, would you ?

I don't think that it being in a game is a big deal, but a couple of you commenting below are no better "shoving they're sh*tt* religion". If you want respect, you give respect.

Every person should do what he/she believes is right, and respect other people's right to do the same. Non-Christians aren't normally going to attack a bit of religion in a game, why should Christians attack something just because they disagree with it? It reflects a better picture of a religion if its followers are respectful of others. No one is being forced to play a game, or do something in a game if it offends them. Children and teens are going to be exposed to the world one way or another. A game like this could be an opportunity for parents to discuss these issues with their kids, rather than hide them from reality.

Christian need to learn to mind their own business, and stop trying to shove they're sh*tt* religion on the rest of us.
