@ destroyeur I wanted to disagree because the idea of this is simply amazing... any game, from any console, any time, on any piece of machinery you got. But come to think of it... you have got a good point, there is a lot of space for a mistake. But imagine if they do succeed...

well this is just awesome but as xxlorddavidxx said that cost is the biggest issue

    One thing:

Using this service requires a subscription, do you think that this is going to be cheap for you to purchase every month, or every year? No, your asking for high end PCs that are being upgraded all the time, in order for this company to make money they're going to charge:

    - Large subscription fees.

And at the end of the day. They say they're trying to avoid people needing to upgrade their PC constantly because of costs? It'll probally cost you more to do this.

I'd like to believe this works out perfectly. But there are so many potential flaws that I don't think this will lift off. I'm sorry.

I can't wait for this to come to Europe, that is if it works, and destroyeur you didnt watch the entire video did you? he said that the servers are well above any high end computer, and we'll just have to see if it works or not.

This is plain bs, compressed lossless digital HD signal at 720p takes between 10-15Mbps depending on the content, not 5, compressing at 5Mbps means it's not 720p, sure there's 1280x720 pixels but there is a big loss of image quality and video games don't like compression, even the slightest one. Anyway, 720p is good for tv broadcast and movies, but it ain't for games, they have lots of ''square'' shapes and colors, and angled geometry need a lot of pixels to look natural. 720p is 9k pixels while 1080p is 2millions, that's twice as much, play a computer game at 720p then 1080p and see for yourself, i know you won't see much difference on a 360 or PS3 but those two had obsolete GPUs at release, right now you need a gaming computer to notice how huge is the gap between 720 and 1080, 200% pixels is no joke. Seriously, the computer ''equivalent'' to 720p is 1028x768 and it's 10 years old. 720p/1080i is the HD standard for TV (HDTV), 1080p is the HD standard for gaming on a TV.

Also, I doubt internet providers would welcome a product that utilize so much bandwidth over a long period of time, 5mbps is 2.3Gigs every hour, so unless you have unlimited bandwidth you won't be able to play that much.

Finally, if you take into account the infrastructure required to achieve remote play of such games you know it can't be done. Per example, World of Warcraft servers need a long maintenance every tuesdays, cost 15$/month per subscribers to maintain (some of it is for profit tho), use only 10-20kB/s of bandwidth for server-client communication and is nothing but a giant calculator on top of a database, no complex processing and 3D rendering here, it's a big and costly infrastructure yet simple and cheap compared to OnLive aspirations. How can they humanly build a server that, not only would require the bandwidth of a major internet provider, but also has all the processing power of a high-end computer for every user for a reasonable price and/or subscription fee. Come on, think about heat dissipation, that by itself is enough to call it dead on arrival.

I like dlc games i evan have more dlc games then disc ones and thats saying alot cuz i got a whole mess of games on disc...but like i said i wish them luck.....ps..one thing that worries me is that if i buy a game on onlive that they might go under and all is lost

Great...some douche bag came along to loop hole a universal gameing system.....i hope this thing fails...FAILS HARD! this thing needs to die and never be concived again because if this thing is super successfull nintendo microsoft and sony will lose too much money...not to mention jobs....and onlive will screw things up due to semi monopoly lol but i highly doubt that will happen but even so it should die...

When the Austrailian guy asks about lag... priceless!!!! They are working on the problem of the speed of light... Eh?

If the manage to speed up te speed of light I will personaly steal the nobel fysics prize and hand it over to them... LOL!!!!! Happy Aprils 1st everyone!

    Really hard to believe!!
I just cant help but say, "There will be lag".
With the amount of bandwidth mentioned it does not seem possible.. Some thing like that is ought to require 50+Mbps but well lets just see..
If this thing succeeds it would really be to a huge advantage of gaming industry!!
