after watching this video more i realised the flashing of the screen everytime you get hit with a bullet is extremely annoying and eye straining. i think for that point alone i would have to pass on the game. it feels like nintendo duck hunt lol

Former Battlefield lead designer David Goldfarb drops by to show us his latest work on Payday 2.
i played part 1 alot and loved it. at first i hated the demo but when i got the game free i gave it another chance and played it a month straight. the only thing i hated though was how many trophys there are for overkill and overkill+ its pretty much a impossible game toplatinum. the few people who did only got it because they glitched before it was patched. its really hard getting multiplayer trophys in any game as it is, its even harder trying to find 3 other people who are pros at a game to get overkill trophys. everyone goes gung ho and sprays bullets and gets wiped out
Seems to me a heist game with more strategy and turn based style combat like X-Com would be cooler than another FPS.
Looking OK. I really enjoyed the robberies etc in GTA games and hoped for something like this. I will be watching.
pay day 1 was horrible imo I hated the combat. The setting and style was cool but it was poorly exucted.. how about l4d 3 but also on ps3/4
Was that cop lying down in the air? and had his back turned to the robbery? needs lots more work.
Remember this is a first look, and I am sure the game is still in beta testing. They are giving us a look at what is coming out in the summer or more than likely the fall. The first Payday was fun to play, and no it's not an exact simulation, but what game is, and what game would be fun if your character actually went down after one bullet? Though I would like to see a game that if you get shot in the arm, you had to switch hands etc. I am looking forward to playing this game and to see what they made new, and how challenging the levels will be... No this game is not for everyone, and as far as price goes, the first Payday was inexpensive and I am sure this will be too... We buy games to have fun and put us in situations that we never will be in (probably/hopefully) such as Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham City and Asylum, Madden, etc...
I'd rather a more tactical robbery game rather than one focused almost entirely on FPS. The first game had a tiny bit of stealth but it was minor and you still needed to shoot your way out in those missions.
@BladeStrike1234 i like the complete opposite, i hate tactical stealth stuff. when i have a long aggrivating day in the real world i want to come home and mow down as many people possible in a game to relive my anger. i hate planning things out. this game is a straight up heist shooter
@BladeStrike1234 Me too. One were you had to actually plan your robbery, and could recruit inside men would be cool.
They could make this so much more interesting:
Taking hostages is not simply putting cuffs on dumb npc's... they should interact with the player as well: there could be a hero one which gets almost everyone killed. Building relations with the victims when it's not a hit and run. etc.
When the robbery goes wrong, the police just don't rush in... they will send a negotiator...
You can follow what happens on the tv's inside the bank. (media)
a dozen things could easily be thought of to make this game way more fun and interesting.
@daviz88 Don't hold your breath, and stop being so naive. In the last couple of years the popularity of FPS's due to games like cod and BF has sky rocketed. At the end of the day dev's and publishers want to make money as well as hopefully a good game. I personally don't mind FPS's, as long as it's a good game.
What kind of dumb cops would walk through the front door when they know there are hostages inside???O.o so they just run out back and across the street and they're home free? lol crap
To all whole talk about morals
Go regulate your children and get the fuck away from my video games....
There was a time when shooting cops was wrong wrong wrong. But in video games it is common place. The fact that no one really objects to this lets cops know how people in general think of them. At least the ones that play video games. My have we evolved as a society. Just waiting for the game when i can become a politician buy being political or going in guns blazing like our fore fathers.
@StephenSays I agree with your first statement, but I didn't understand this: " My have we evolved as a society. Just waiting for the game when i can become a politician buy being political or going in guns blazing like our fore fathers."....
I'm just saying that video games are allowing freedom, in there game play. You can play a game where you are stealing in a simulated style game. This is the closest you will come to robing a bank without robbing a bank for real. You also have the option to kill cops. So i am just waiting for them to take it even further. Allow a game where your trying to become President but you can approach it with freedom. (politically or with force) Actually Assasins creed might already be working on this.
The only reason I watched this was that I thought this was free to play hahahaha no way anyone would pay for this
This game looks GREAT!! Ahahhha finally they have a game where you're doing the "wrong" thing; where you're the "bad guys" I love the concept and can't wait for this to hit stores. Just wish they'd consider making a console version because my computer isn't that great.
Again though, can't wait to see this further down the road, actually got me excited! :O)
@ligerplease Payday one was a downloadable game on PS3... It was fun and I liked it. It did not make me want to go out and commit any crimes, what it did let you do was decide how you were going to complete the mission and how stealthy you could be be fore triggering any alarms or being seen by any guards. I did enjoy it and as a download it was inexpensive and I'm sure this (Payday 2) will be inexpensive also... If you own a PS3 and are on the PSN, you can get the download even cheaper than when it cam out, I do believe they still have the demo up, and there is also DLC with a couple of more missions. I do wish they would of put more DLC and missions/heists out...
bullet proof thieves... hhmm.... yeah.
Were's the consequence of alerting the cops, the cops and authorities are fully trained professionals I imagine they'd make mince meat out of a couple of jewel thieves.
@Sam_021 @Andrak_Vol hmm... even MW you'd die if 2 people were shooting at you at close range.
You can take way too many bullets for me. Guy blasting in the face with 870 shotgun from that range and he's a ok.
@splinter10 play the first game its very fun. Of course its not a bank robbery sim its a game. You can take too many bullets in almost all video games. In real life an AK can rip your arm off. Also, these guys are heavily armored like the guys in the Hollywood shootout. There are consequences. You can actually get captured and your teammates use hostages to trade you back etc. Theres a patterns to the heist and depending on what you do different types of cops respond and you can lose the money. This game is more like Left 4 Dead than FPS type cod game.
@oflow Yeah I hear you. However I think they game would be much better if it didn't go down such an arcade route. Like jumping into a van and magically getting away, with the cops literally meters away from you. Also picking up bodies and tying people up without your hands. Everything else looks cool though, and even with these things I don't like I could still imagine playing the game. Anyhow they say its pre-alpha, so hopefully it will much, much better.
This is definitely a great concept and I always thought more open world games for sure should have had bank jobs as part of the things to do. One thing though I don't like is the picking up bodies and having both hands still free to shoot. And tying people up, with a gun still in your hand. Slightly ruins the immersion for me. Also just jumping into the van, to end the mission is abit of anti-climatic, and unrealistic. Then again I guess there going for a more arcadey feel. Still quite interested in this game, will keeping an eye on it
