Now Playing: Postal III
- Dec 21, 2011
Curious about Postal III? We play it so you don't have to play.
If Postal 3 didn't have the glitches and crashes, I'd say its worth a 6 or a 7. It has some amusing scenes involving Dave, Osama, and Ron, and the game is chock full of dismemberment goodness, something you won't find in a GTA or SR game. However, although the game ran flawless for me for awhile, starting with the Uwe Boll level the game started crashing quite a bit, usually resulting in a clent.dll conclict. Then there's the fact that the gas tank doesn't always work, sometimes npc's the player has to follow will get stuck behind walls or just stop, and the console window is chock full of errors due to missing wav files. I tried re-installing it twice via Steam without any luck. And although a new patch came out for it the other day, the patch really only fixes the music volume issue the game at times had, and it slightly speeds up the loading screens. In short, although I don't agree with everything in the Gamespot review, I do feel it deserves a 3.0 due to teh crashes. Now some gamers may feel crashes shouldn't lower a games rating too much, however I feel if a game crashes quite a bit its broken and a broken product doesn't deserve a passing grade.
you guys really wasted your time in the game, running into walls, into people, and complaining when the game kinda glitches, i might pick it up,for the heck of it, to have something to play on my pc...
@Darksec No one's complaining about "visually etc." so I'm not quite sure who your insult is directed at. But suffice it to say that if the goal with Postal 3 was to make a funny game that's fun to play, its lazy "jokes" falling flat and it being a tedious, busted, poorly designed and programmed piece of s*** is not doing this underground cult style game any favors. And they want $40 for it, so it is going to be compared to PC games in that same price range. Like Saints Row The Third, which is an actual funny fun game. Also worth noting is that Postal 3 is more than twice the price of games like Bastion, Frozen Synapse, Trine 2, To The Moon, Orcs Must Die, Gemini Rue, Amnesia and Terraria.
This was never a game to kill AAA titles! It is simply the developers expressing themselves, and not giving a stuff what people think!
this game aint about visually etc its about being funny n fun only, its not meant to be big its underground cult style game, the kids on here wont understand/get it so just stay off it
I just beat Postal 3 taking the good path and I can recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Postal 2. My biggest complaint is that it's linear but the developers promised a free roam patch soon, I'd definitely get it when that comes along. It's buggy, and the fist fighting is really off but other than that it's a huge step up from Postal 2 presentation wise. The graphics, art direction, and animation are competent and the gunplay/melee weapons work just fine. Just like Postal 2 it has a nice variety of weapons and environments too. The cutscenes are hilarious and the Postal Dude is probably my favorite video game character of the year, just because he doesn't give a crap about anything. Compared to high budget games, of course it's going to seem like garbage but it's fun though. Support the devs if this type of game seems interesting to you, we aren't talking about Bethesda or something here guys, just a bunch of dudes trying to make a fun game with a good sense of humor. Hard to come by that nowadays.
Sadly, I see this game as a misconception. Don't get me wrong, I Loved "postal 2", but that was a LONG time ago. I think I'll better download it for pc instead of buying for the 360.
Actually i bought and played this game. In my opinion I'd give it a 7, or a 6.5 its a fun game. I'm really in to the humor mostly, the characters Champ and Dude really got me hooked in, I'm a stupid person, and I can relate in some aspects. So as for the controls, theres lots of glitches, game crashes, AI gets in my way, sometimes its hard to punch/pour gasoline, graphics are outdated(But I don't rate based on graphics, I love me some n64) But for the plus- its got good humor, good characters, lots of gore and dismemberment, decent weapon selection, and quite a few medium sized maps. Although the animations can be cheesy, the scenery of the map makes up for it in most cases. So should you buy it? Up to you, in my opinion if your a postal fan YES. If your new to postal, wait for the price to drop to 30 before you even consider buying. So in the end as for a fan - 7/10 (8 if the glitches were totally removed). And for any gamer 5.7/10. Its fun. -Quick edit, if you are looking for a hardcore serious game, look elsewhere this is for people with a good sense of humor.
wow this game past me by... i want to get it cause i loved postal 2...and postal 1 was....well it was surprisingly worse than the uwe boll movie
and you can suck the rags on the desk. your not trying hard enough gamespot. the game's ok, it's not meant to be taken seriously (doh', it's game). and it's not like MW3 or skyrim bought ANYTHING new to the table (not like Portal 2 witch i enjoyed like, both games put together).
there is a disease that make cats (and other animals) want to jump at your jugular. rabies you rocket scientists. nice video and awesome game. yes it has a ton of flaws, yes it's not A grade comedy, but it's Postal, so we don't give a fk.
after a while i snapped out of it and found myself asking myself 'why am i wasting part of my life watching this?'
One of the funniest Now Playing episodes I've ever watched! Awesome job presenting this awfully made game!
At least Running With Scissors had the sense of mind to price it at $40 retail value, although even that to me feels like a stretch.
hmm still is fun to play even with all the bugs and problems ill buy it nevertheless btw i think you should spray the cat nip on the sushi guys :)
Was originally looking forward to this but now I honestly don't know if it's worth the money after watching this.
Really hope they fix the multitude of problems really soon, and what bugs me is they kept it in 3rd person, it was more fun in 1st.
@Kevin-V I think that's because you are spraying in the top of the cats, I think you need to spray the floor, and sorry, I didn't see you saying they were respawning You aren't used to games like this are you, where you need to ignore enemies? If I was playing I would run and try to ignore the chinese and get all the cats, it didn't see hard to do, the damage you take is very low, just run when you see someone with a machine gun.
@deathm00n -- Um--I did notice that. And did you not notice that I said, out loud, that the enemies respawn? Also, did you not notice that sometimes nothing happens to the cats, and they are not affected by the catnip?
Oh my god this game looks like it could have been fun but instead it's totally annoying. The controls and bugs are killing it. But I cant believe they didn't figure out you have to spray the catnip on the ground and not the cat itself... it was so obvious.
I see we have Ron Jeremy instead of Gary Coleman this time around. It seems more or less to have the same spirit as Postal 2, which I thought was kinda fun. Hopefully they have gas cans like in the previous game so you can make sweet ignitable trails -- that was the best. I see cats still play a part in this game, haha. Gameplay and animation/scripting transitions seem buggy yet. I'd play the demo for sure -- and I bet it would be fun. Not saying I'd buy the game, though. I hope that the guy playing was forced to wear that shirt -- because its not neat at all.
I had higher hopes for this. I'll give it a bit more of a detailed look-in at least. The MOVIE was SUPERB however
