The leaper between characters looks good, but it looks like COM characters are pretty thick. 01:15 - 01:19 and throughout the video, while the player takes cover they just seemed to be standing there like idiots!
I just want to say THANK YOU to Insomniac for including two main/playable female characters.
3 Like i'm not a guy who's going to harp on how great overstrike was or any such shit. i know that's not going to happen so i'll leave it at that.
but this game looks so goddamn generic and repetitive it makes me weep. the great and magical fuse weapons don't seem to add ANYTHING to the gameplay. it's just gears of war with less muscly guys and 4-player co-op with an option to switch. he stealth is generic, the shooting is generic, the enemy spawns and levels are generic, i mean this seems more generic than it actually is simply because of the promise it held. i'm only saying this based off a single gameplay video but it does nothing to impress me.
it might actually turn out great but right now it looks really bad.
@aniforprez i checked the official site.... they are mainly tech, upgrade and gadget focused don't say anything big or cool about the story.... probably you will get bored if you don't like blowing stuffs up..... violence ain't for you, go knit sweaters or play those dress up games
@lordshifu how does my comment make me seem like i don't like violence? i have no aversion to violent video games and i'll play them just as often as non violent ones. in fact bulletstorm is one of my favorites. i was just saying this whole game looks so damn samey as every other 3ps. it breaks my heart to see something so promising as overstrike be replaced with this.
again, this my opinion based off only one gameplay video and no experience with the actual game so it may change on release but this video makes me sad.
@aniforprez @lordshifu Ha, way to kcik some ass guys. Seriously reading these comments are more fun than watching the entire video. Have to agree with aniforprez , theres nothing in the game video that stands out for me just yet.

i'm as disappointed by the aesthetic change as most people here are, but the more i look into this game the more appealing it becomes. i say everyone close their traps and wait to actually see how this turns out. this is insomniac we're talking about here. quality studio that makes quality games.

Any destructible environment or same old bullet proof cardboard boxes? It looks like a bit of Gears of war with a different skin!
Oh boy.... Resistance FUSEd with Uncharted and Vanquish. I love how they have EXACTLY the Dead Eye from R3....

@brxricano I still haven't gotten around to trying thata one. I just can't see how a game can be so disastrous (or so I hear), while having such an interesting concept (nectar, etc.).

6 Like The original Overstrike concept looked much better, now it looks like an incredibly flat third person shooter.
Get to work on some decent Spyro games!
I'd say it's a rental, but EA's online pass thing means I probably won't even bother to do that.

Seriously guys? We're still doing this? It's fun for a few seconds to see you slice through enemies like butter, but it gets to be a bore when we realize you've turned off any semblance of challenge the game might have.
Show us actual challenge, not another cakewalk massacre!
1 Like The game looks promising. Sure it doesn't stand out as much as it did when it was Overstrike, but it still looks like a fun game to play. Hopefully they will keep some of the Overstrike humor in the game. It is Insomniac after all so I expect some kind of smartassery in there.

Insomniac, I love you guys. I have since I was a kid and played the hell out of the Ratchet and Clank games, with Up yourAarsenal being one of my favorite games of all time. I also liked Resistence, with 3 being the only one that didn't feel generic and imo was the best and most fun to play, while still liking the other 2 to some degree.
This had potential, and while I never played Overstrike, or saw any footage for Overstrike, it had WAY more going for it than this, with it's original style and it's humor. You guys should have stuck with the humor, you made RATCHET AND FREAKING CLANK!!!
This game looks generic and uninspired. First they jump ship from Sony (Big freaking mistake), and then decide to work under EA (A mistake only exhibited if the devil himself came up and coordinated the deal himself!). What happened to you Insomniac?
1 Like What??How could you say that the resistance series did sell well and are you including the ratchet and clank series?insomniac did very good with sony threw the years the problem is something happened and they completely screwed sony.

1 Like Not to sure about this one. The game still looks pretty rough and the A.I. definitely needs some work but i will be watching it closely to see how development goes.....

They will need it because EA loves controlling developers,and in some cases destroying them.
