These guys sold out big time. Their idea at the beginning were to make a 'realistic futuristic tactical' shooter. They spent a heap of time working on the dynamics of movement and shooting as a soldier... and now?

    RUN AND GUN!!!

Just another typical fps. Oh... and plug in the laptop from dell some more you sell outs. Why don't you just call in a coke endorsement too?

I'll give you credit for putting up your cash and time. I understand that you will have to change the game because of time and resources. But because of this... you don't stand out.

Well done on the effort... but this game is now dead to me. Btw - what is with shooting through walls? I understand some walls can be shot through... but that defeats the purpose of COVER - which just makes people want to RUN AND GUN!!!

Your better off dodging in the open than hiding behind cover and STILL BEING SHOT!!! This game will turn into UNREAL TOURNAMENT.

Everyone check out, "insurgency" for a beta that tries for modern Iraq conflict REALISM. Has potential to ACHIEVE what these guys abandoned on.

Polished for a beta and uses half life 2: source engine. Also done by the same guys who did "Red Orchestra".

Its great to see that an indie company is making their project a reality going into business where its normally controlled by the big companies. However, keep in mind that you have to please gamers who have already been jaded by the big budgeted games out there. I'm an independent movie maker..and I learned that audiences would still slaughter it comparing it to big movies.. Is it fair? Maybe not. Now..an independent company making a game that rivals the quality and production of the big games..now that is a testament of greatness.

Great Show! I hope that they continue with this series. It may be helpful for when me and my friend decide to make our own FPS game.

I guess I was wrong, but I thought it said there'd be another new episode this week, 5/23. I know they had it up briefly for this Wednesday on the homepage and now it's showing nothing, so I don't know what's happening. Hopefully they will continue to update us on this game, though.

Damn I want to play BPRE

I love the idea of being able to buy equipment (bit like an RPG) with credits you mostly earn from capturing objectives, rather than from running around killing as many people as possible. That encourages teamplay.

The map looks absolutely fantastic, but with one snag: As far as I can see, shooting a people going up / ontop of a building is like shooting ducks in a barrel because all the little "porches" and raised platforms are made of metal [ = penetrable material ]. I would recommend to either make sure the stuff is fairly bullet resistant, or cover up the walkways a bit more (so it's harder to see the people there). Otherwise, absolutely fantastic game, I can't wait to see it on store shelves! Best of luck to all of you guys at Echelon Software!

Finally it's complete. My eye's can rest now. It took me a week but I've finally watched all 10 episodes of this magnificant series Indie-velopment.

Black Powder Red Earth looks to be a decent game. However, I'm still curious on what platform this title will be released on, PC or console? I've learned alot of what it takes to create a game from scratch, learn new software, build levels that will appeal to the gamer, pitch the game demo to potential publishers, and watch it take off. And to a person that is looking to be in this kind of field it's invaluable to me of what I should do in terms of college courses.

Anyways, thanks Gamespot for a great series and I hope that we'll see more of these in the future.

Best of luck to you guys! Great team work and I have to say...making a decent tech demo within the 90 day restriction is amazing.

Hope to see more vids of you guys up here soon. Oh, and really hoping to see your game on store shelves in the future.

Tip- You guys would do better if you model your game kinda after America's Army. There's no game closer to realism than that game.

Best of luck to you guys in marketing it. Looks real good and the shooting through walls idea is pretty good. Hope to see a demo for use coming soon.
