Zorine and Jess take the latest Resident Evil release for a spin to judge its scariness and ridiculous fashion.
So I played through the entire game, and I can honestly say it's the most Resident Evil-y Resident Evil in recent history.
Still pretty much crap though...
@dark_being Oh, that's very good to hear as I'm starting on it at home now.
P.S. Play either one of The Suffering. One of the best horror action games I've played. So creepy and gory and the monsters are awesome.
@ 0:20 "...it was a game that i chose" and jess said, "yes!" but her eyes were like, "this is gonna suck so much."
This is the first time for me to watch House of Horrors. I'd have to say it's nice to have Zorine and Jess doing game walkthroughs. I don't think I have seen girl gamers doing walkthroughs on Youtube or other places, so this is a nice change. Their commentary is really funny too.
@zappobubble It's fun! I try to check out their clips every week. If you want you can try to catch the live feed and enjoy the oftentimes tongue-in-cheek comments.
it's one of the less interesting episodes, but it's quite funny to see Jess and Zorine unphased by the game's jump scares.
resident evil relevations now playng,,now we have two girls instead,,nice change
As a healthy adult male - I can appreciate the clothing in this particular game. Although it might not always be amazingly practical, this is a game, and I am perfectly willing to accept some suspension of reality. Perhaps in the resident evil universe tight-form-fitting clothing confers some sort of armor bonus.
@zenstrata I agree, mostly. But if you think this is "impractical", you should try other games, especially Japanese/Asian ones like this. Believe it or not, Revelations, or the RE Universe in general, is actually one of the more conservative franchises. Fashion-wise, that is. Besides, it's a long-held tradition in pop culture (any genre/media/region), that skin = protection. Long before we were even born, I hear.
Ladies! Great idea to do a newer game! Not only is the show fun to watch, but now it acts as a review of sorts that demonstrates gameplay. Good stuff as always!
Jess should play Silent Hill 2. Great story, excellent atmosphere and, more importantly, easy shooting.
LOL! Wow. I actually personally wished that @tempertress and @Zorine would do Revelations on another comment thread (the new review's). So I'm so glad that you guys finally made it come true. That's so awesome of you guys! Thanks. :)
it sure is the best resident evil game in recent years, but it's not really a horror game... an intersesting House of horrors episode after this one would be cold fear, since it basically a RE4 clone and mostly took place on a ship. oh, and it's legitimately scary.
@johnnyauau We play House of Horrors every Wednesday at 12pm AEST though that might be changing soon =] will let you know
Lol, Does the story in this crap have anything to do with Finland, becouse apparently the plane at 42:37 was headed to Valkoinen mökki airport ( White Cabin in Finnish).
Nice try girls to bring out the good moments in the game,BUT unfortunately the only good moments in the game is your presence,With two good looking girls like you who wants to play this RESI? Which by the way shows its age. The creatures are REDICULOUS in movement, the main characters try to move in co-op but unfortunately your partner moves behind you like a dog,for instance if you get lost begind those silly f......can doors all it does follow you around like a jerk, instead of helping or giving you a hint on where to go, forget that when shooting a creature or a BOSS BATTLE all your partner does, he shoots the walls not giving you a helping hand. Listen girls take it from somebody who enjoys playing games all his life, what CAPCOM has to do with RESI. is erase it of the boards because they damn ruined the game and start from scratch.. Take care girls. You are the only EXCLLENT element in this presentation. As of RESI they can go to hell for ruining the game.Oh I forgot what. A piece of garbage was raccoon city............Jesus ! Tackett care and keep up the good work. You
Bring freshness into our life both of you.
That over the shoulder view would have driven me insane on the 3DS. I was tempted to buy it but if it is on console/PC now I won't bother.
Ladies, play Condemned! Or Martian Gothic, or Haunting Ground, or Rule of Rose, or Cursed Mountain, or Deadly Premonition, or Echo Night Beyond, ...
@Warlord_Irochi @SpookyJack Actually, you're right. The controls & combat ruin the game. It's just not very fun to play. Still, I do find the game's story quite interesting, the art design stunning and I'm in love with the soundtrack. :)
Although I played (and LOVED) this game on the 3DS, I'm finding it kinda hard to get into again on console. I don't know if it's because I've already beaten it on the 3DS or if I'm spoiled by ZombiU (which was hundreds of times more tense).
if they did something with like Claire and Leon from RE2, where leon's first day in the job as an RPD officer, and claire as a student finding her brother, people who are unaware and just innocent civilians, i think it would be great, like in resident evil outbreak, no training at all. except some of their expertise to see them survive some helluva virus.
I wish the devs would just go back to their roots and bring us back something Japanese. In their desperation to produce something that will sell in America they've produced something that no one can pretend is good/clever/fresh.
Wish List:
Less ammo, less/no ridiculous technology, less laughable muscles/asses/breasts/outfits, less uninspired sci-fi monsters, less pointless characters and less dialogue, less dodging and complete freedom of movement, less convoluted back-pedalling storylines featuring"HQs" of endless, acronymed government organisations.
More atmosphere, more bipedal enemies, more traditional (non-automatic) weapons with *names* instead of numbers, more areas to wander around with *no* enemies, SOME personality for the characters (like, any), more emphasis on slow, gradual upgrades, more competent item management systems (preferably that don't have to be accessed in real-time) and more consistent, believable, clever antagonists.
To the person in the chat that said "your head is where you lose 90%" of your heat", that's not true in the slightest, you'll lose more heat through a single exposed leg or arm than through your head, which is covered in hair for a reason.
Also, the monsters that you fight loads of in the beginning that you said look like the things from Amnesia,
I think the bell they're ringing in your head is in the same back section of your brain as the Regenerators from Resident Evil 4, which will exist in the subconscious of every gamer this generation for the rest of their lives. That's why they look familiar.
I really wish that the Resident Evil series did away with the skimpy, tight-fitting outfits. Being in a third-person perspective, it really hinders the gaming experience, and not in a good way. It seems the game is targeting prepubescent boys, and it looks quite ridiculous. It's supposed to be a horror game, but you can't help but laugh at these outfits.
As an adult gamer, I cannot play this without being ridiculed.
Suppose I'm playing this, and...
(someone walks into the room)
Other person: "Oh, now I see why you like this game!"
Me: *Face-Palm* mumbles..."Not again..."
This is a pretty decent game, especially since it's a port from a 3DS. (You think it's easy Jess? than try it on Infernal....even with the stash caried over from a Newgame+ gun strength means nothing if you do not shoot the enemies weak points accurately) It certainly was not designed for a console but frankly is alot more fun than some other console games, and in my opinion is easily a much better RE game than RE6. Yep the dialogue is corny as hell. But the gameplay is fun and the progression/atmosphere is good. Caro's review is not really a good reflection of the content this game provides, but hey that's Caro's opinion.
And yes, the Jessica in the game is presented as a shallow/fickle character.......im sure there are no similarities whatsoever with Jess M. here :P :D
Thanks for the episode ladies, keep it up.
I was watching this live while I was in a meeting and no one in the board room noticed. :)
